The thinning

The thinning

Choosing thinner lenses is an excellent option, especially if your prescription exceeds ±2. When dealing with a higher prescription, opting for thinner lenses is an essential step to guarantee not only lighter and more comfortable eyewear but also a stylish and durable solution.

We provide two thinning options:

Extra-thin is ideal for prescriptions exceeding ±2, with an index of 1.6, enhancing of your lenses significantly.

Ultra-thin is the optimal choice for prescriptions surpassing ±4, featuring an index of 1.67. It transforms your lenses, especially beneficial for larger prescriptions where thickness can be noticeable.

Is thinning necessary? Most likely, yes! Consider this: if you're opting for a titanium frame, thinning becomes crucial. Despite our advanced nose pad design, titanium frames are exceptionally lightweight. However, with a larger prescription, the glasses may become slightly heavier, potentially affecting stability on your nose. Additionally, thicker lenses might extend beyond the frame by a few millimeters. Thinning helps address both issues, ensuring a comfortable fit and proper alignment of your glasses.

Even if the frame isn't titanium, thinning lenses can still significantly improve comfort. Acetate frames, while lighter than some materials, can still feel heavy when paired with high prescription lenses. If you wear your glasses throughout the day, maximising your comfort and aesthetics is the key.
